Environmental – Beautification Grant
We appreciate your interest in the Keep Lowndes Valdosta Beautiful Environmental-Beautification Grant. This grant is sponsored by Keep Lowndes-Valdosta Beautiful to provide up to $500 for individual teachers to initiate programs or supplement existing programs relating to environmental education on the school campus OR initiate or supplement existing beautification programs located on the school campus. This program is available to K-12 teachers in the Lowndes and Valdosta School Systems and in the independent schools in Lowndes County. Teachers applying for the grant should carefully read and comply with the following guidelines or the grant will not be considered. Three grants will be awarded. One will be given to the best entry from a teacher teaching at a school within the Valdosta City limits, one will be given to a teacher teaching at a independent school system, and one will be given to a teacher teaching at a school outside the Valdosta City limits (in the county, but not necessary a county school).
1. The grant will be judged on creativity, need it will address, benefits to student and efficient use of funds.
2. The teacher submitting the application must be a full-time classroom teacher who has daily contact with the students involved. Applications will not be accepted from groups of teachers.
3. Applications will be reviewed anonymously by the Board of Keep Lowndes-Valdosta Beautiful.
4. Grant applications will be delivered to individual schools and/or board offices for distribution. Complete the application and send it to KLVB with the attached cover letter. Your name and school should not appear anywhere on the actual application (only the cover letter).
Failure to comply with the above guidelines will render your application unacceptable for judging.
Applications must be postmarked TBA. Applications received after this date will not be considered. Please mail your cover letter and application to:
